About Me

Hey You!

Yes You!

I’m A Stay-At-Home-Mama
living in Chaos, too.

Welcome to Hands on mama.

I am a born again, Christian who just so happened to meet and marry the most amazing man while serving my country in the Air Force. So, yes, I am a vetern. My husband and I have two beautiful kiddos who we have been homeschooling for eleven years now.

I became a stay-at-home-mama immediately after getting out of the Air Force. At that time I was eight months prengant with my oldest, my son, and I was seriously nesting badly. Six years later and my second, my precious daughter, came along. I have experienced all of the ups and downs of staying at home with my children.

Being at stay-at-home-mama is not an easy job. Yet, we are often ashamed to tell others that we are one. The shame society puts on women who refuse to play the game of “having it all” is very damaging to the family unit. We should not be ashamed of the sacrifice we make for our children & our family. It is a noble choice.

There are many other daily struggles that stay-at-home-mamas face, as well. That is why I am here. I am hoping to help you beat the chaos of your day-to-day lives and live the life God has planned for you. This includes tips & tricks that I may use or am learning along with you. I intend to share what has helped me and what I am excited to try.

This blog will also include information from my friends and family members in areas that I might not be the mose expierenced in. After all, we are all here to help each other, right? I am also open to any ideas, suggestions, or even questions you might have. I love to learn and explore, and who knows, you just mightinspire a future blog post or even help me write one in the future.

Some Fun Facts

I am a super fan of a few Sci-fi shows, but that does not mean that I like all things Sci-fi. I don’t.

My favorite actor EVER just happens to be Jimmy Stewart. I watch his movies over and over again and love them all.

I don’t drink coffee. In fact, I really don’t like how the caffeine in it makes my heart race. That said, I am practically addicted to Biggmy’s Dark Hot Chocolate.

How To Find & Eat Your Frog

“Eat a live frog every morning, and nothing worse will happen to you the rest of the day.” — Mark Twain Of course the concept of eating your frog originated with Mark Twain, but recently others have really been able to run with it. For instance, in the book Eat That...

Why Mom Guilt Is A Lie

Mom guilt is something that you have suffered from at least once if you are a mom. I think for some of us, it even starts before our babies are even born. You what I am talking about. It's those nagging feelings you get or those thoughts that creep up on you that...

7 Fall Drinks That Are NOT Pumpkin Spice

Fall drinks are everywhere and none more than pumpkin spice. I have actually started calling this time of year, "Pumpkin Spice Season". I know that there is so much more to Autumn than pumpkin spice (which I hate with a passion). This led me on a search of Pinterest...

How to Teach the Civil War to Homeschoolers

Our summer didn't go so well. In fact, we really didn't do anything fun as a family. I think that we were all just pulled in too many directions and had such long to-do lists that we didn't realize it until it was all over. We were in desperate need of some good...
